Nifty Top 10: TVSMOTOR, CUMMINSIND, Shriram Transport Finance & Other Gainers

Despite Indian capital markets falling in bearish territory and paring gains made in the recent weeks, a number of stocks witnessed surge. Stocks belonging to numerous indices made price gains during the week despite overall fall in the market. This week’s Nifty top ten comprised of several stock from Pharma, Consumer Goods, Industrial, metals and services sectors. Stocks from Nifty100, Nifty250 and Nifty500 had respective three stocks in the list and a lone stock from Nifty50 index. The top 10 includes TVS Motors, CUMMINSIND & other gainers.

TVS Motor Company (NSE: TVSMOTOR) was the topmost stock in terms of volume and price momentum. TVSMOTOR witnessed surge of 1951% in the traded volume of the stock and delivered 8% price returns during the week. TVSMOTOR rose to Rs 557 from Rs 515. Shriram Transport Finance Company (NSE: SRTRANSFIN) and Cummins India (NSE: CUMMINSIND) were another two stocks that delivered 8% price gains during the week. SRTRANSFIN witnessed 451% surge in the traded volumes to deliver 8% gains. Its stock price rose to Rs 1292 from Rs 1199. CUMMINSIND witnessed similar surge in the traded volumes during the week and its stock price rose to Rs 659 from Rs 608.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (NSE: SUNPHARMA) and Colgate-Palmolive India (NSE: COLPAL) delivered 4% price gains during the week. SUNPHARMA witnessed 391% surge in the traded volumes which resulted in its stock pricing rising to Rs 588 from Rs 568. COLPAL stock on the other hand registered 297% spike in the traded volumes of the stock. Its stock price rose to Rs 1603 from Rs 1542.

Thomas Cook India (NSE: THOMASCOOK) and Quess Corp (NSE: QUESS) stocks delivered 3% price gains during the week. THOMASCOOK stock rose to Rs 45.2 from Rs 43.8. QUESS stock price rose to Rs 578.9 from Rs 560.8 during the week.

Container Corporation of India (NSE: CONCOR) and Hindustan Copper (NSE: HINDCOPPER) managed to deliver just 2% price gains by the end of the week. CONCOR stock rose to Rs 436 from Rs 426 despite just 288% surge in the traded volumes of the stock. HINDCOPPER stock rose to Rs 60.6 from Rs 59.25.

Himatsingka Seide (NSE: HIMATSEIDE) pared all its price gains and failed to deliver any price returns during the week.
