Best Auto Stocks on Nifty with YTD & September Price Gain
There are 32 automobile and auto components stocks on NSE. These best auto stocks comprised of large, medium and small enterprises. These stocks are constituents of three indices – Nifty50, Nifty100 and Nifty500.
Six of thirty one listed index shares are part of Nifty50 – Bajaj Auto, Mahinda (M&M), Maruti, Tata Motors, Hero MotoCorp and Eicher Motors. All of these are tier 1 OEM companies.
Only two of them are part of Nifty100 index. Remaining twenty three stocks are part of Nifty500 index. Majority of shares in Nity500 list are auto component companies barring a few like TVS motors.
September Performance:
Price gains in the stocks was driven by mid-caps as the stocks belonging to Nifty500 led the price gains in the month of September. There was just one stock which delivered double digit price gain and out of top ten stocks eight stocks were from Nifty500 index. 17 stocks delivered negative price returns in the month.
Varroc Engineering (NSE: VARROC) topped the chart with 15% price gains in Sep, none of the shares came close to VARROC in terms of price performance. All the remaining stocks delivered less than 10% price gains. BAJAJ-AUTO & HEROMOTOCO were only Nifty50 stocks in the top ten.
